Overview

The Sherwood Code Photon Pro Junior 40 Flex Hockey Stick is designed for developing players looking for lightweight, responsive performance and the versatile shooting characteristics of Sherwood’s CODE family. The 40 Flex configuration provides increased shaft resistance for stronger junior players who are ready to progress beyond softer flex options while still benefiting from junior-sized dimensions.

Built for an all-around offensive game, the Code Photon Pro Junior 40 Flex is a strong option for players developing their snapshots, wrist shots, passing, puck handling, and shooting in stride. Its responsive performance profile allows young players to work on different aspects of their game without being limited to one particular shooting style.

Key Features

Junior 40 Flex

The 40 Flex configuration is designed for junior players who have developed the strength and shooting mechanics required to properly load a stiffer shaft. Compared with a 30 Flex stick, the added resistance can better complement stronger players as their shooting technique and power progress.

CODE Performance Platform

Part of Sherwood’s CODE family, the Photon Pro is geared toward versatile performance. This makes it a strong option for players who need their stick to respond effectively during shooting, passing, puck handling, and playmaking.

Versatile Shooting Performance

The Photon Pro is designed to support an all-around shooting game. Junior players can work on snapshots, wrist shots, shooting in stride, and one-timers, helping them develop different releases for different situations on the ice.

Responsive Energy Transfer

The responsive shaft works with the 40 Flex configuration to help players load the stick during their shooting motion and transfer that energy through their release.

Lightweight Performance

A performance-focused construction helps keep the Photon Pro manageable in junior players' hands, allowing for quicker movements while stickhandling, passing, receiving the puck, and shooting.

Responsive Puck Feel

A responsive feel helps developing players maintain confidence with the puck, whether they're receiving a pass, carrying through traffic, setting up a teammate, or transitioning quickly into a shot.

Balanced Construction

A balanced overall feel helps make the stick easier to control during fast movements, giving progressing players the responsiveness needed as their puck-handling and shooting skills become more advanced.

Fit & Feel

More Resistance with 40 Flex

The 40 Flex Photon Pro offers greater shaft resistance than the 30 Flex version. It's best suited to players who can comfortably bend and load a 40 Flex without changing or compromising their shooting mechanics.

Lightweight & Responsive

The Code Photon Pro Junior is designed to remain quick and manageable in the hands, helping junior players efficiently move the stick through dekes, passes, puck protection, and shooting motions.

Built for Progressing Junior Players

For players who are beginning to overpower softer junior flexes but aren't ready for an Intermediate stick, the 40 Flex configuration can provide a natural progression.

All-Around Skill Development

The versatile CODE platform makes the Photon Pro a strong option for players developing a complete offensive game involving shooting, passing, stickhandling, puck control, and playmaking.

Just Hockey Pro Tip

The Sherwood Code Photon Pro Junior 40 Flex is a strong progression option for players who can properly load more resistance than a 30 Flex provides but still require a Junior stick.

Don't choose 40 Flex based solely on age. Player size, strength, stick length, and shooting technique all matter. A properly selected flex should allow the player to load the shaft naturally while maintaining good mechanics. If the player has to dramatically alter their shooting motion to bend the stick, moving to 40 Flex may be premature.
